It's probably important to acknowledge that this blog was inspired by a talk archivist/activist Rick Prelinger gave at NYU a few weeks back. He mentioned blogs as a way for moving image archivists and people concerned about access to moving images to create community and awareness. Since it was Rick's laserdiscs (yes, laserdiscs, I'm that old) of ephemeral films that got me thinking about archival film in the first place, it seems appropriate.

I'm not one for mission statements, but I can say that this will be a place to bring together links about archival moving images, copyright law, mid-century television technology, and a few other topics that seem worth knowing about. We'll see.
